It's a kitten, alright.
Jul. 30th, 2009 12:14 pmJulie said she only wanted three things for her birthday: a lap-desk, a carrier for her iPod she could wear while exercising, and a kitty. She got the first of these around two weeks ago--she found a stray kitten at Jiffy Lube and brought her home with her. This little cat is quite the troublemaker; anything she encounters is either going to be climbed on, climbed under, attacked, or eaten. We named her Koopa after one of the drivers in Mario Kart Wii. Anyway, I also gave Julie the lap-desk she'd wanted shortly afterward, and last night at my parents' house she got the iPod carrier... as well as the Pets expansion for the Sims, since we've been playing it more lately.
I've been unemployed for about two weeks. I can't say it came as a surprise, since Convergys was basically paying me to sit and read every day; the client finally decided there was no reason to maintain that much personnel on a project that's not getting any calls. They said they might be able to hire me back halfway through August, but I'd really like for one of these banks to schedule an interview with me before that's necessary.
What else has been going on... we went sailing a couple times, although Julie has yet to be able to go with us this summer. Went to the usual Fourth of July party at the house of some friends of my parents. Julie and I kind of marveled at some kids claiming to be "pyromaniacs". Over at the Worst Forums Ever,
fried_octopus has gotten everybody on a "Let's Play" kick, and he just finished Let's Play Exquisite Knorpse, which I was involved in making. (It's probably not worth watching if you aren't familiar with Exquisite Knorpse or Knytt Stories, though. Or unless you just really enjoy schadenfreude.)
