In one week, I'm going to go to Orland for the Millie Lewis Actors, Models, and Talent Competition convention. I hope I do well, if only because I've invested at least as much money in this one event as I did the past two years of college.

Maybe four.

Not by a factor of a hundred!!!!

The cost of the books, tuition, lodging, travel time/gas to & from school, depreciation of vehicles, food, clothing, interest on loans, and lost opportunity will take a lifetime to recover.

The lifeboats are all leaving the ship. Sure hope you're on one before it goes down!

Well, probably not close to the last four years; my first two semesters at KU were expensive in all the traditional ways.

The past two years, on the other hand, have been pretty cheap, expensewise--not that I have much to show for it. And the lost investment in time is pretty nasty.

You have to be realistic about it, though. What, REALISTCALLY might you have been doing with that time otherwise? Anything you think of, ask yourself, were you really mentally and emotionally prepared to be doing that at that point?

The tendency is always to idealize what you could have doing with that time, and then, of course, you say, "Man, what a waste!"
