"The will is strong but the body is weak." Isn't a shame we're at the mercy of our mortal bodies? The difference between our aspirations and our abilities ought to be some quantifiable metric of frustration one experiences in life.
We still haven't played Halo 2. Although, in hindsight, this is probably for the best. Halo 2 wasn't very good for multiplayer. I believe I saw that EBGames has Unreal Championship 2 for 30 dollars (at least with a coupon), we should both pick that up and give it a shot.
That "Halo 2 wasn't very good for multiplayer" bit puzzles me. I think I disagree. Furthermore, I've got this map pack for some reason, and it seems a waste not to play. So, if you'd like to give it ONE MORE SHOT, I say we try to schedule a game. Now that I know my work schedule, this is possible.
Also, i actually did just pick up UC2, and I love it with every inch of my body (even though all the people who have been playing since release are way better than me).
Sounds pretty cool. Is this for PC? I've kind of lost interest in PC shooters, which is strange, since I usually dismiss console FPSes because they'd be so much better with mouse+keyboard. The only (recent) exceptions to this are Halo 2 and TimeSplitters.
What times are you available on Tuesday? I'll try to get on Live then.
Its for Xbox (making this the fourth FPS i've bought for the console and the first I've said works better on the console, not including the Metroid Prime games, of course), and its ridiculously fun. I've been the same way with PC shooters recently, since at this point they're basically all turning into the exact same game. The game is kind of like JKII and Jedi Academy, except for that there's a reason to use guns as well as melee rather than just melee. If you go to EB and take one of their coupon books, there should be a $20 off coupon for it, and its worth every penny.
Tuesday, I might be available some time during the afternoon or evening, provided I don't make plans (can't make any guarantees there, unfortunately).
I never played the first, and I found it pretty dull.
The major culprit was the battle system, where you have to hit a button to stop a spinning marker every time you want to attack something. Timed button presses are okay when, for instance, you're telling Mario to jump again after smashing someone in the head, but they get annoying when they're thrown in just for the sake of there being timed button presses. Worse, you can't play the game if you're at all tired or if you have a poor view of the screen.
I ended up selling the game back to EB soon after I got it.
