Hello!

Anyone who's ever read anything I've written at any point should know that it's pointless for me to declare any plans that I have for this journal--indeed, there's a solid case of evidence suggesting that any plans I describe could be taken as an argument against any such plans ever actually coming to fruition. If you have any sense of pattern recognition whatsoever, you can assume anything I write here will be frequently and magnificently wrong.

And yet, I persist!

I came up with an idea today that tickles me too much to ignore. I'll limit my discussion of the matter to this: after all is said and done, I should have two to three regularly updated weblogs, and three to four static, dead weblog archives.

Which leaves you to wonder: just how many weblogs do I have, at the moment?! And what counts as 'dead', anyway? Personally, I'd say "a month between updates means it's in critical condition."

Before I can put my plan into effect, I've got to finish off or wait for the following items to occur:

-write the promised stories
-get the quarterly summary out of my system
-NaNoWriMo?

I think that might be it, actually.

So! Big things are on the horizon, but you'd be a fool to expect them!

Hmm. I don't actually know where your other weblogs are.

In an entirely unrelated matter, do you still play Magic: The Gathering? I ask because I've come into possession of some Magic cards, and I have absolutely no use for them whatsoever. I don't know how to play, I don't have a deck, and I wouldn't have any opponents even if those first two negative conditions were not fulfilled.

Also, Valkyrie Profile is great fun. 2D platformer RPGs should have been all the rage.

It's a secret to everyone.

They are... mostly inaccessible, at the moment. That's part of what The PlanTM
is supposed to address; while most of this stuff is irrelevent and
pointless. (Look, it's Yet Another Quiz Result--what Elemental Spirit
would you be? You can't answer that, though, because the website died two years ago.)

I
haven't actually played a game of Magic in over a year--it's more like
3 years if you don't count games against myself. Despite this, I've
still got all my cards, and I occasionally get more. It's a fun game,
if you can avoid getting sucked into the the whole buying frenzy it
tends to inspire. Did you know it's possible to play online? You don't need any cards, that way; then you'd just need to understand the rules (Warning: link opens a PDF).

I'll have to check it out, although frankly the 2D platformer RPGs we've already got are all the rage.

I have so many things going on with both my journal and assorted writing projects that I depress myself whenever I start trying to make mental plans to get some of them finished. I find it's better to just simplify things in that regard. I know for a fact that I'll be doing the NaNoWriMo thing next month, and I'll have another article for The Gamer's Quarter in issue 4. Everything else, of which there is an increasing lot, will just have to fall into place when the time comes for it. I used to be a man of the plan, now I am a man of the moment of which the plan is only a temporary thing completely subject to change at any second. If that makes any sense.

Having a steady job and stuff kind of sucks for a budding young writer.

Yeah, I know the feeling. It's just that, for so long, the plan had been to "do whatever I feel like" and nothing was happening, as a result.

I keep meaning to write something for The Gamer's Quarter. I should add that to the list.

I would love to do NaNoWriMo but I can't write worth a crap and have a 8 page paper and a presentation due in or shortly after November.

I also want to find people to do something like this. But I think it would be more fun to run it as a RPG game.. each player has a blog, they can update it as frequently as they want and if they introduce an element with other player, the other player must pick up on it in their blog.

That's fascinating and incomprehensible! Also, over a year out-of-date!
